Early Life, Family & Education
On July 22, 1995, Jonathan Owens was born to his parents in St. Louis, Missouri, US. He went to Loyola Academy in St. Louis to study for his high school education. Afterward, he would train under Coach Scott Pingle and play high school football at Christian Brothers College. He was the title of the CBC Linebacker while playing football in his high school years. According to him, his sister inspired him to play football.
Owens initially wanted to pursue a career in medicine and for that purpose, he decided to major in pre-physical theory. However, he seemed to have changed his mind after receiving considerable success in the field of professional football.
Career
Jonathan Owens played football for Missouri Western State University (MWSU) as a defensive back when his redshirt year finished in the 2013 season. He became the MWSU Male Student of the Year in his final season in 2017. In 2017, he also became a member of the All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Second Team. His name remained listed in the MIAA Academic Honor Roll as long as he attended college. He had thought of becoming a doctor and so decided to major in pre-physical therapy.
After the NFL Draft in 2018, Owens signed a contract with the Arizona Cardinals and became an undrafted free agent. Before the 2018 season, he received an injury in the last week of OTAs (organized team activities). Owing to his injury, he had to spend the whole season on the injured reserve.
