Early Life, Family & Education
On November 10, 1978, Eve was born to her parents in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The names of her parents are Jarry Jeffers and Julie Wilcher. Her father worked as a chemical plant supervisor and her mother served as a supervisor at a publishing company.
The parents of Eve separated when Eve was 12 years old. Her mother two years later married a man named Ron Wilch. Eve completed her high school education at Martin Luther King High School located in Philadelphia.
Career
Eve was interested in singing from an early age and formed a singing group with only female members. She called her all-female music group Dope Girl Pose. At one time, the manager of Eve’s group suggested Eve try rapping. The idea of performing raps appealed to Eve. Later, her group Dope Girl Pose disintegrated and she decided to start her solo career.
Eve rolled out her first official single music, What Yall Want, in June 1996. Her first single song became a quick hit and ranked at the 29th position on the hot 100 billboards. This was an important turning point in Eve’s musical career.
Eve released her first official music album titled, “Let There Be Eve” in 1999. She was the winner of the 2002 Grammy Award for her second single song in the “Scorpion” album.
